Getting a new PC from the store is great – they seem so fast, reliable and elegant. However, as soon as you start using your PC for longer and longer periods of time, you start to eventually see a decline in its performance and effectiveness. This is a huge problem which is mostly caused by a part of your system called the ‘registry’.

Not many people know this, but there’s a part of your system which is constantly making your computer run slow – the registry. The registry is a big database which stores the settings, options and personalization details for your PC; allowing your computer to “remember” all sorts of details for your PC. The registry is a very important part of Windows, because it stores the likes of your latest emails, desktop wallpaper and even your login username & password.

Unfortunately, the registry is also the cause of 99% of the slow PCs around the World, and it’s caused by corrupt registry files. This problem is actually one of the biggest reasons why Windows runs slowly, and is because whenever you use your system, it’s constantly reading and editing 100′s of registry files to help your PC load up your old settings. This means that whenever you use your system, many important files are open at once, which makes Windows confused and leads it to save many registry files in the wrong way.

When registry files are saved in the wrong way, they become corrupt and damaged (basically having their contents mixed up like a book with its pages in the wrong order). This means that whenever you use your computer next, it’s actually forced to take longer and longer to load up the registry files it needs. And because Windows is forever making more and more registry files corrupt every day, you eventually get 1,000′s damaged on your PC.

Think of the registry as a telephone directory for your PC, except all the listings are settings for your system. The reason why corrupt registry files cause your system to run slow, is because when they become corrupt, it’s like having all the listings in the directory mixed up; resulting in your PC having to take longer to read them all. This makes your system extremely tentative and slow, and is why it’s vital that you fix corrupt registry files as much as you can.

To fix corrupt registry files, you just need to be able to do two things. The first is to identify the files that are corrupt and the second is to fix / replace the files you find. This can be done manually by opening “regedit.exe”, or it can be done automatically by using a registry cleaner. We highly recommend you automatically clean out the corrupt registry files on your PC, as that will be the safest and most effective way to do it.
